The most important element of our HSE program is that every employee has the right and the responsibility to refuse to work in unsafe work conditions and we empower every one of our employees to make that decision, if and when, it arises.

Health
We believe that a healthy workforce is a productive workforce. We have a company-wide benefits program that ensures people are healthy in mind and body. Our medical and dental benefits program provides excellent coverage for every employee. In addition, to help employees with day-to-day concerns as well as big life changes such as moving or having a child, we offer Lifeworks - a comprehensive employee and immediate family assistance program that is available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

Safety
Safety on the job, in the field, and in the office is so important to creating a positive work culture. The Packers Plus program Work Safe helps put the focus on safety every day. It starts with the President and his objective to have a member of senior management tour every location once a year to connect with every employeeand provide a presentation on safety. In addition to having a focus on safety at every level of the organization, we also have a comprehensive Health, Safety, and Environmental Program that is outlined in detail and communicated to all employees. We reinforce this safety message with an article in every issue of our internal quarterly newsletter and internal monthly email update and through on going training and education.

In addition to creating a culture of safety, Packers Plus ensures that the company’s safety policies and procedures comply with all federal, provincial, and local regulations. In countries where Packers Plus operates, we not only ensure we meet regulatory directives but make sure that our safety standards improve and enhance employee safety.

Environment
Packers Plus adheres to a Do It Once Do It Right philosophy in all aspects of environmental stewardship. We promote recycling whenever possible - from office paper waste to ink cartridges. If we can reduce travel by having conference call meetings or coordinate multiple meetings with one trip - we work to both reduce costs and the impact that driving and flying has on our environment. We know that both big and little things make a difference and we work to make that difference by turning off lights in the office and powering down computers at the end of the day. In our field operations, we ensure that our waste management and environmental procedures practice the 4 Rs of waste prevention; reduction, recovery, reuse, and recycle.
